The NSW Junior Chess League provides the following coaching opportunities for its members: Holiday Coaching Clinics One-day coaching clinics in the autumn, winter and spring school holidays, catering for new and relatively inexperienced players (a) players who are unrated (usually because they have not yet played in a rated tournament); (b) players with NSWJCL ratings below 700 (players above this level would not derive as much benefit). Advanced Training Squad Special group coaching for players who have demonstrated a high level of ability and motivation, with weekly online sessions held in term time. For further details click HERE. Girls Training Squad Special group coaching for young experienced girls, with fortnightly sessions held in term time. For further details click HERE. Coaching at Australian Junior Championships The NSWJCL has in past years provided top-level coaches to help NSW players prepare for their games at this event. However, the need for this has diminished as more and more players have been engaging their own private coaches.
2027 Australian Junior Championships The NSWJCL plans to offer free coaching to the NSW Junior Champions (Under 18 and Under 12) and the NSW Girls Champions (Under 18 and Under 12) while participating in the 2027 AJC. Coaching may also be offered (but for a fee) – if places are available – to selected members of the NSWJCL's Advanced Training Squad.
